Dinner Theater productions have your audience interacting with our cast, plus people from your organization or from your local community theater.
Every organization does a murder mystery dinner. Be different.
Our dinner shows are very interactive. Every guest is given a card that gives them a part in the story, and the audience is asked to join in: a toast, a task, a quest, a vote, a secret to keep or a line at the mic. Your guests may want to come to more than one performance, as their interactions with the cast and the story itself will be different every time.
Larger speaking parts that are integral to the flow and plot of the show are filled by people in your organization or by finding actors from your local community theater.
We also know every guest has their own comfort level. Any guest roles that require speaking or otherwise draw attention to themselves are filled before the show by volunteers, who are also given a brief orientation. Any guest can trade a card with someone else or hand it to the actor hosting their table. Anyone can simply sit back and enjoy the show. Nobody is ever put on the spot.
Each dinner show can be held anywhere you would hold a banquet. You choose a plated or buffet meal unless the show says otherwise. While not required, the primary cast members can also wear a performance microphone (we can help you find a local company to provide this service).

Ray and the Sentimentals’ Last Wedding
An immersive dinner show with a live band
The audience are guests at a wedding reception, where an iconic wedding band is playing its final gig. Knowing it is the band’s last night, the bride has invited back four couples whose weddings the band played over “almost fifty years.” All four come from this same crazy and slightly dysfunctional family. After the first dance, there’s a surprising and heartwarming announcement that will change the course of the rest of the night.

Doug from the service department is retiring after thirty years, and his coworkers are throwing him a dinner. What they didn’t know was that before he was Doug, he was Dez Valentine, frontman of a hair band with one hit in 1987. That song is a song he hated from the start and has hated ever since. Somebody posted the party online, and the fans found out about it. Dress for 1987.

Twenty-five years is a long time to hold a grudge.
A 25th year class reunion in a local banquet hall, with a DJ, a slideshow, and one RSVP nobody expected. Every guest gets a name from the yearbook, a superlative, and something to do about it before the night is over: a toast, a confession at the mic, an old flame to find or avoid. When the now-mega-famous classmate that nobody expected to come actually shows up, everyone attempts to play it cool (except a few audience members).

The Repast

He was a good man. Ask anyone. Just don’t ask two people at the same table. Guests come as the mourners at the meal after the funeral: family, neighbors, the men from the mill, the women from church, each with a memory of him that doesn’t square with somebody else’s. Sign the book. Take a turn with the eulogy.

Blood Relatives
The potluck has been a cold war since 1974.
Four branches of one family, one pavilion, and a potluck that has been a cold war since 1974. Guests arrive with a branch, a family legend, a secret, and a job: win the tug-of-war, get a rival branch to give up a recipe, find the cousin with the same birthmark. But even the best-laid plans go awry when Cousin Dale presents the family tree.

Well Done: A Retirement Roast
Forty years. One cake. Everybody gets a turn.
The small town’s football coach of 40 years is retiring, and there’s a room full of people who have waited a long time to say what they think. The honoree sits in the head table chair while everybody takes a turn. Guests get a roast line, a story that contradicts the next table’s, and a moment at the mic. But Coach Richards was never one to sit back and take it. He fires back at every one of them, and some town secrets are exposed.

Under New Management
The founder has one more announcement.
You’ve never been to a company banquet quite like this one. The annual company party at a business the same family has owned for three generations (available as a non-holiday company banquet or a holiday-themed party). On this night, the founder is finally stepping down. Guests are asked to be part of the story and the show. Everyone comes as the staff: some have a grievance, there’s a Secret Santa to hunt down (holiday version only), and one has somebody in the room they’ve been quietly seeing. A big announcement near the end will surprise everyone.
